Plan B is a crime reduction programme funded by the South Yorkshire Violence Reduction Unit. Causeway’s custody navigators visit people shortly after their arrest, and whilst they are in custody, to offer them the chance to engage with support and address any issues that led to their offending.

Our team aim to address the underlying issues which can contribute to offending, such as trauma, substance misuse, mental and physical health issues, housing or homelessness, and problems with relationships or money. This work in undertaken with appropriate statutory agencies and partners, and where possible includes family engagement.

Through essential partnerships and signposting we are able to ensure that people receive the specific specialised support that they need. This in turn reduces the likelihood of re-offending, and encourages progress forward as people make positive and valuable contributions to society.
