At 28 years old and weighing just under four stone Jess had exhausted every service that the NHS could offer. Since a teenager Jess had suffered from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
She had spent most of her teenage and adolescent years in and out of hospital, leaving with unanswered questions and every time closer to death’s door. Jess decided to apply for City Hearts as her last resort, something needed to change.
“I was met with hope, they saw me as a person, not an illness. It wasn’t easy, but it was so worth it. After years of living in a hopeless situation, going round in a cycle that was killing me, I found freedom, fun and love. I look forward to each new day, and whatever is coming round the corner.”
Jess graduated the Restore programme 5 years ago and is now a highly valued member of our staff team.
“I love working for City Hearts, I love seeing people with no hope, find hope again”.
